Sci-Port’s Bug Bazaar
Does anyone remember Sci-Port’s Bug Bazaar? Or is this your first time hearing about it? Either way, we’re excited to share that this beloved event is making its return on April 11, 2026 – exactly 10 years after the last Bug Bazaar in 2016. It’s a full-circle moment we’re thrilled to celebrate.
Get ready to crawl, slither, and wiggle your way into a day of hands-on fun for all ages. Guests can enjoy interactive activities like a ladybug release, printmaking, fossil digging, and more, all designed to spark curiosity and a love for the natural world. This year’s event will also feature a special presentation by Coyote Peterson, host of Brave Wilderness, in the Goodman IMAX Dome. Known for his up-close encounters with wildlife, his presentation is sure to be an unforgettable highlight. Learn more
Bug Bazaar will include over 20 community partners, with local favorites like the Shreveport Aquarium, Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center, WERLA and Steve’s Snaketuary joining in to provide engaging, educational experiences throughout the day.
