To schedule and receive school group rates and programming, groups must have 10 or more students and reserve and submit the reservation form at least two weeks in advance. The reservation form can be obtained by emailing reservations@sciport.org

*1 teacher or school staff person receives free admission per 10 students. This is good for up to 12 teachers but excludes an IMAX only visit.

Payment Policies

  • One week notice is requested for cancellations. Cancellations with less notice incur a $40 administrative fee. Weather-related cancellations are the exception and will be rescheduled at no extra charge.
  • When arriving, have your money combined into one group payment (including student and chaperone fees) and designate a representative to make that payment at the Visitor Services desk. Sci-Port prefers school checks made out to “Red River STEM” but also accepts major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) or cash. No envelopes with loose change, please.

SCIENCE PROGRAMS

Sci-Port’s programs are easily integrated into the learning cycle. They may be used as discovery and introduction to concepts, in concept formation or as part of the analysis and evaluation part of a lesson. In an effort to assist you in meeting your curriculum needs, all demonstrations have been aligned to the GLEs, Common Core Math, and NGSSs.

  • Each program is 30 minutes
  • Programs accommodate up to 60 people
  • Programs will normally take place between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

PLANETARIUM PROGRAMS

It’s education that is truly out of this world! Programming covers a variety of subject matter within Earth and Space Science, Astronomy, and Physics. Feel like you’re headed on an intergalactic voyage with the16-million pixel laser projection system which is driven by the revolutionary planetarium software, Digistar3.

  • Each program is 30 minutes
  • Choose from live program or movie
  • Programs accommodate up to 60 people
  • Programs will normally take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

IMAX® Films

Sci-Port’s IMAX® films are educational, entertaining and relevant to all grade levels (and teachers, too). Think about booking an IMAX® adventure when scheduling your field trip. Films average 45 minutes in duration, and Educator Guides are usually available for each film.

Catered Lunches

  • 20 person minimum required per order.
  • Entrée will be the same for the entire group with the exception of special needs.
  • Lunch packages must be ordered at least 7 days before your visit and final count changes must be received within 3 days of your visit.
  • Please contact Rachel Ginsburg at least 4 days in advance if your order changes by five or more students.
  • Payment for lunch orders is separate from your payment to Sci-Port. Checks should be made out to Rachel Ginsburg
  • Price is $6.00/lunch and each lunch includes 1 Entrée, 2 Sides, and bottled water. Price includes tax. Note: All prices and menu items are subject to change.
    • Entrée Choices: Hamburger, Hot Dog, Pizza (cheese and/or pepperoni), Fried Chicken Sandwich
    • Side Choices: Assorted Chips, Fresh Fruit Cup, Veggies with Ranch, Cookie, Brownie

Bring Your Own! Guests may bring their own lunch. Depending on availability, visitor may use the café seating area, outside seating around Sci-Port, or find seating across the street on the riverfront. Sci-Port will try to accommodate guests in the case of inclement weather. Inside lunchroom seating is reserved for groups ordering from our partner, A Stones Throw’s Café
