About Sci-Port Discovery Center
Sci-Port Discovery Center is a 92,000-square-foot science and entertainment center located on the beautiful downtown Shreveport riverfront. We are made up of Louisiana’s Science and Space Center (LSSC), Power of Play (PoP) Children’s Museum, Gallery of Intrigue, and Louisiana’s only IMAX® Dome Theatre, the Goodman IMAX Dome. LSSC includes over 200 hands-on exhibits, interactive programs and demonstrations, and the Sawyer Space Dome Planetarium. PoP is a kid-sized Shreveport-Bossier where kids ages 8 and under can learn through the power of play. Sci-Port is a member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers, the Association of Children’s Museums, and the LA Space Consortium.

Our Mission
Sci-Port Discovery Center provides a fun, immersive environment for people of all ages to explore and actively engage in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Sci-Port serves to spark curiosity and inspire a passion for lifelong learning by utilizing hands-on, scientific discovery activities.
Sci-Port presents more than 75 Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Louisiana Grade Level Expectations (GLE)
Sci-Port’s strong partnerships with school systems, effective collaborations with community organizations and outreach throughout all parishes in the state, and diverse public/private support have established the science center as a cornerstone in the economic and educational development of the southern region and a leader of informal science education in the state of Louisiana.
