SUMMARY:Sketching the Wild
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to announce a special arts-and-science collaboration! Sci-Port Discovery Center\, in partnership with the Shreveport Regional Arts Council\, will present Sketching the Wild — a juried gallery exhibition coming to Artspace in downtown Shreveport. \nThe exhibition will be on display April 11–May 22\, 2026\, with an opening reception on Saturday\, April 11 from 5:30–7:00 PM. \nThis exhibition is part of a larger celebration of science illustration happening across our community\, coinciding with Natural Histories: 400 Years of Scientific Illustration\, a temporary exhibition opening March 11 at Sci-Port that explores the beauty\, history\, and impact of scientific illustration through collaborations with regional and national partners. \nCall for Artists — Submissions Now Open\nWe are currently accepting artwork submissions for Sketching the Wild. There is no cost to enter\, and all entries will go through a juried review process. SUMMARY:Member's Only Easter Egg Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Sci-Port members are invited to join us Saturday\, March 21 starting at 8:30 AM for a fun-filled Easter egg hunt throughout the center! We’ll have multiple galleries with age-designated hunts and staggered start times to keep things exciting and comfortable for everyone. \nThis event is free for Sci-Port members. Not a Sci-Port member but part of an ASTC Passport Program participating museum? This event is for you too! And if you’re not currently a Sci-Port member but know one\, you can still join the festivities with a Friends of a Member pass for just $5 per person – a fun way to experience membership perks for the day and learn more about joining. \nWe’ll have hundreds of eggs hidden throughout the center\, plus a golden egg in each gallery that unlocks a basket full of goodies. The hunt is geared toward kiddos 12 and under\, but we haven’t forgotten the young-at-heart – guests 13+ can jump into egg-cellent games\, win prizes\, compete\, and discover new curiosities along the way. \nWe’ll also have special programming and activities happening throughout the event and the day so plan to stick around and keep the fun going! We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
